There's been times where beef in Bismarck during COVID-19 has been scarce as toilet paper.  Now, prices have jumped significantly due to a manufacture recall of over 40,000 pounds of beef.  This has caused beef prices in Bismarck Mandan to jump between 2 or 3 dollars more a pound.  Prices Monday afternoon in Bismarck were between 7 or 8 bucks a pound for hamburger.  YIKES!  That's right, your home made tacos, meatloaf,  spaghetti or Hamburger Helper hot dish just got a whole lot more expensive.

According to an article on KFYR-TV Lakeside Refrigerated Services is recalling nearly 43,000 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said in a recall notice.

This of course will not only impact ground beef, but steaks as well.  Meat in general during the coronavirus has been tough to find, as people decided to hoard steaks and hamburger in Bismarck Mandan.  Those concerns seemed to have eased over the last month as both hamburger, steaks and other beef products were more readily available over most grocery stores in the area.  Now chicken might be a cheaper option for families as they plan their dinners.  And, of course you have pork products as an option as well.

Hasn't 2020 been a great year so far?  What's next?  Oh yeah, the Mayan calendar says the world is supposed to end on Sunday.  Insert joke HERE.  Sounds about right after what we have experienced over the last 6 months of this year.
