SCORE! Bismarck comes in at # 4 from the top best small cities to grow old in. In other words, if you're going to get old, Bismarck is one of the best small cities to grow old in.

According to Milkin Institute, Bismarck ranks number 4 in a report published this week. The top three small cities are Iowa City, Sioux Falls and Columbus, MO.

Here is how MI drew this conclusion-The overall composite rankings for 2014 "Best Cities for Successful Aging" are based on the same eight subcomponents that were scored in 2012: general indicators, health care; wellness; living arrangements; transportation/convenience; financial well-being; employment/education; and community engagement. Each subcomponent is scored according to multiple individual indicators. Across all eight, we used 84 individual indicators, up from 78 in the 2012 report.

So even though growing old may be somewhat of a pain in the rear, at least you picked the best place to grow old! Pass the Metamucil please!
