Bismarck Bubble Bursts: Robust North Dakota Rainfall Totals
I was reading a post on Bismarck People Reporting News on Sunday morning complaining about the Bismarck Bubble.
The author was saying we need to find the source of why rainfall seemingly always breaks apart as it hits the Capital Region. I have seen radars in recent years that certainly indicate that to be true.
Kind of Ironic, the same day somebody was complaining about the "Bismarck Bubble", the bubble not only burst, but we broke an all-time record.
We broke a record for rainfall on July 21st with 2.56 inches of rain. That crushed the previous record from 1948 of 1.42 inches of rain. I also saw a couple of rain gauges from listeners in northeast Bismarck with over 3 inches of rain.
We have more rain in the forecast again this afternoon and tonight, and it could once again be heavy rainfall. We also have the potential for severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds, and a tornado or two possible. These storms are expected to be mainly on the overnight tonight.
Here are your North Dakota estimated Rainfall Totals from the National Weather Service and weather.us for Sunday, July 20th.
