***** I wrote this story back in June - This person inspires me so much with her attitude that I thought I would pass this on to you once more *****

I spent an hour this afternoon in my office at work talking to "an angel on earth"

That's right, her name is Emily Lang - she is from Bismarck, the middle sister of three total- Grace, Emily, and Ashley. Since January, she lives alone, along with her 6-month-old roommate - a kitten by the name of Stella. Still, though, she sees her family a lot, for she knows that solitude can bring some serious pain. Today ( June 2nd, 2023 ) was the second time I had a chance to talk with this extremely charming lady.

Back in November 2021, I was extremely nervous a couple of minutes before my phone conversation with the Legacy High School alumni

A young mother suffered the loss of her 11-month-old daughter Presley on October 26th, 2021. Emily knew something wasn't right when she was born with a rare genetic order and passed away due to what's called RSV - Respiratory Syncytial Virus.  At the time of my interview, I remember feeling apprehensive, you know, afraid to ask her how she could possibly deal with such a tragedy. My article was titled Bismarck's Emily Lang - "Eleven Months Forever In My Heart"   - Today my goal was to catch up with Emily, and man am I so glad I did.

From start to finish, in my small office, SHE made things so comfortable, I felt at ease asking her all my questions -  I want EVERYONE to know what a special lady she is.

At any given community event you most likely will see her there, and trust me, she is so approachable, her smile lights up a room and it's obvious that her parents Brandi and Jeremy made a good impression on teaching her perfect manners. Working 2 jobs here in town can help keep you busy - I can't think of anyone who is a better role model and ideal for a DSP - Direct support Professional - she works with kids who are dealing with special needs - this is a job that takes extreme patience and pure love for others in your heart. Many times you will be able to spot her at the Superslide Amusement Park - she wears many hats at this job.

Like most people I imagine, find it almost impossible to even think about going through what Emily has...

...YET she will make you feel at ease the second you start talking to her - she WANTS to talk about Presley, after seeing the sparkle in her eyes I believe it's healthy for her to be open about it, and others are reaching out to her - through social media. Grieving moms, grieving dads, and anyone grieving has made contact with her - we are not talking about a few random people - how about THOUSANDS!! Think about that for a couple of seconds. Last year a Nonprofit organization - National Coalition for Infant Health - flew Emily out to Florida to film a documentary. The experience was rough for her, to relive the death of her daughter - with tremendous strength her attitude remained positive  "I wanted to help spread awareness"

Her mom Brandi has been one of her biggest supporters

That's the beauty of a mom-and-daughter relationship - the love that Emily had for Presley will never ever fade, and Brandi wrapped her daughter in her arms and still protects her today. Of course, there will be moments of depression, like holidays, special events, and Mother's Day - Emily knows that she will also never stop grieving. The amazing thing to me, today, and back when I first spoke to her on the phone -  is this huge heart that pulsates through everything and everyone she comes across.

"I'm proud of myself"...

...so glad to see that she embraces how special she is, I am honored to be her friend.  You see it's really simple, she wants everyone to appreciate what they have in life, she also knows that one day, she will meet up with her daughter again - and she expects Presley to be in the arms of a dear friend of hers that sadly took her own life. Here are my final thoughts, this young lady is special, she genuinely cares for people, and I really believe that Emily Lang is a True Angel that lives right here in Bismarck.
