Our first long holiday weekend for many will kick off summer with Memorial Day on Monday. One of the most common things that North Dakotans will do is BBQ.
Yep, dead flesh on the girl is one of our favorite things to do in North Dakota all summer long, and especially when we gather with friends and family on holiday weekends.
If you haven't been to the grocery store in a while, you might be in for a shock with the prices you will encounter when it comes to stocking up for your Memorial Day barbeque. Virtually everything will be more expensive than it was a year ago.
Especially in one department, the most important department when it comes to your Memorial Day BBQ.
I ran across an article recently from Business Insider, "Why your barbecue is likely to cost you more this summer."
We are already getting used to paying a premium in the meat department at the grocery store, and now it appears prices will be going up even more.

Why the hike in beef prices once again?
It's pretty much what we were taught back in Economics 101 in High School. The law of supply and demand. Due to the pandemic and drought, our cattle herd is still in tough shape and smaller than it's been in decades.
This will likely lead to another jump in prices just in time for your summertime grilling this weekend. So stock up now before it gets even worse.

Ribeye to New York Strip and all of the cuts in between. Look for even higher prices.
Brats and hot dogs will also see higher prices at the grocery store.
And perhaps the most popular grilling item of them all, the hamburger, will also be burning a hole in your pocket.
