A Good Bet

The best wager is when you have nothing to lose but everything to gain. That is now the case with Delta Airlines, and the next time you fly to Minneapolis. Delta Airlines has teamed with DraftKings to make its flights from Bismarck to Minneapolis just a bit more interesting, but don't expect to make any cash bets.

Delta is bringing a DraftKings game to the skies that will give passengers who are 21-plus a chance to play SkyPicks during their flight, and it's absolutely free with no risk or cash involved.

How it Works

According to Delta News Hub, the game is available through Delta's Sync Wi-Fi platform and is designed as an in-flight entertainment experience. You can simply make your picks on Major League Baseball games, and NFL football matchups are expected to be added once the season starts in September. You will need to make a DraftKings account and be a member of SkyMiles to play. Contests will run twice a week, and Delta gift cards will be awarded to top performers in individual games or contests and monthly leaderboards. Again, this is not connected to real-money sportsbook activity. SkyPicks is only available through Delta Sync Wi-Fi on personal devices and not through seatback screens.

The Bottom Line

So, you are basically playing for a discount on future Delta Airline flights you might book, with no financial risk. Customers must opt in for SkyPicks-related emails to be notified if they win. Nowhere in the article does it say how much the gift cards are worth, but again, this looks like something fun to pass the time while you go wheels up on a runway.
