Winter Storm Warning Posted For Parts Of North Dakota
The first full day of spring in North Dakota is going to look much like the way it has all winter.
Snow and some patchy blowing snow are expected today for much of North Dakota today.
A Winter Storm Warning has been posted for parts of southeast North Dakota.
This warning runs from 4 pm today to 7 am Wednesday morning. This includes the counties of Steel, Traill, Barnes, Cass, Ransom, Sargent, and Richland.
Cities in the warning include Mayville, Hillsboro, Hatton, Portland, Valley City, Fargo, Gwinner, Forman, and Wahpeton.
5 to 7 inches of heavy wet snow is expected. Snowfall rates could be 1 to 2 inches per hour, according to the National Weather Service. Higher snowfall accumulations are possible.
Travel could become very difficult and may affect the afternoon commute in the warning area.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for south-central North Dakota and parts of southeast North Dakota.
This includes the Bismarck Mandan area and much of our listening area. This advisory runs from 12 pm this afternoon until 1 am Wednesday morning.
The counties included in the advisory include Oliver, Morton, Burleigh, Grant, Sioux, and Emmons. Including the cities of Center, Bismarck, Mandan, Fort Yates, Linton, Solen, New Leipzig, Selfridge, Strasburg, Carson, and Elgin.
2 to 5 inches of snow is expected in this advisory area. Higher amounts the further east you go. The wind is not expected to be an issue in our listening area.
Plan on slippery road conditions that could impact your Tuesday evening commute.
