It's going to be a snowy Presidents Day in Bismarck Mandan.  The snow was nearly gone in our area but now we'll be shoveling once again.  I know I'll be giving my snowblower a workout after work.

So, just how much snow is expected for Bismarck Mandan?  According to the National Weather Service in Bismarck up to 3 more inches is possible.  That's on top of the already 2 inches of snow we received on Sunday.  You'll be looking at close to a half-foot of snow to remove from your residence by the time it's all said and done late tonight.

Impacts include travel will be very difficult.  Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.  The hazardous conditions will impact both the Monday morning and evening commutes.

To add insult to injury you can expect wind chills as cold as 40 below zero are expected.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of emergency.  The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 511.

Most of the roads in the state at the time of this article are either snow-covered or have scattered snowdrifts.  To see the latest road conditions map in North Dakota for the Department of Transportation click here.

Very cold air is expected to move into the region following the snow with subzero high temperatures for the next few days and overnight lows around twenty below zero.
