Wind Chill Warning in Effect for the Bismarck-Mandan Region [UPDATE]
The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a WIND CHILL WARNING in effect for the region until Wednesday.
UPDATE 3 PM: The National Weather Service has changed the Wind Chill Advisory to a Wind Chill Warning.
The ground is already frozen and combine that with the snow pack and a slight wind and the air temperatures, it is dangerously cold. The wind chill advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Wednesday. Wind chill values will range from 25 below to 40 below zero.
With these types of wind chill values, frostbite and hypothermia can occur in as little as 30 minutes.
The counties included in the advisory include Morton, Burleigh, Mclean, Sheridan, Kidder, Stutsman, Grant, Sioux, Emmons, Logan, McIntosh and Oliver counties.
