Which Counties In North Dakota Do You Live The Longest?
Where you live makes a difference.
So many factors come into play when it comes to your lifespan. How you live it, the environment you live in, how well you eat, how well you take care of yourself, and quality healthcare all come into play.
The website Stacker put together a list of the 25 Counties in North Dakota with the longest life expectancy.
This really caught my eye because I've also wondered if you're better off being in the middle of nowhere or city life if you want to live the longest.
Well, according to their statistics the answer is pretty clear, and to be honest it kind of surprises me. More on that in a second.
Here's how Stacker came up with their data.
Life expectancy was measured by the average number of years from birth a person can expect to live, and was calculated based on the number of people who died in a given time period. Also, measured in the mix was the number of people at risk of dying during that period. Mortality data came from the National Vital Statistics System.
I have to be honest, I figured the more rural you were, the shorter your life expectancy. My reasoning for this was access to quality healthcare. I was thinking the further you were away from good hospitals the lower your life expectancy. As you will see shortly from this list, that was not necessarily the case.
In fact, it looks like the more out in the middle of nowhere you are, the better off you are.
