When Journey Comes To North Dakota Could It Be With Steve Perry?
The legendary band Journey is coming to North Dakota in 2024 with Toto.
The iconic 80's bands will play the Alerus Center on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024. This tour is part of Journey's 30-city Freedom Tour 2024 and will commemorate the band's 50th anniversary. The tour kicks off on February 9th in Biloxi, Mississippi, and will wrap up on April 29th in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Steve Perry hasn't toured with band Journey since 1987.
Since then, the band has used several lead singers to replace Steve Perry. I saw them in Fargo with Def Leppard in the early 2000s. The band was still good, but as somebody who has never seen Journey with Steve Perry, it just didn't seem the same. As a big fan of the band, seeing Journey with Steve Perry would be a major bucket list for me.
Now, I'm not saying it's going to happen when Journey visits Grand Forks on March 2nd but it might be possible.
There are a few signs out there:
#1 Steve Perry appears to be burying the hatchet by dropping his longtime lawsuit with the band, according to Rolling Stone. This was definitely the first step to a potential reunion with Journey.
#2 Journey guitarist Neal Shon told Entertainment Tonight in late 2023 that he is open to the idea of reuniting with Steve Perry. I saw the episode on TV.
#3 This is Journey's 50th-anniversary tour. Let's face it, they're not getting any younger. If a Journey-Steve Perry tour were to ever happen again, you would think this would be the perfect time to do it.
I guess we'll find out in about a month. Again, this tour is set to start February 9th, so Journey and Steve Perry have just over 30 days to patch things up. I for one will have my fingers crossed. "Don't Stop Believing"!
