Summer is a wonderful time of year.

The way the grass goes from brown to green. The world just seems to come alive. And summer, well that speaks for itself. The warm, the sun, the heat...bring it on! But there is a season that just captures the attention of us each and every year and that is GARAGE SALE SEASON or rummage sales depending on what side of the river you are!

Garage Sailing!...

Oh Heck Yeah! If there is a sign on a corner of Collins Ave and 14th St. NW in Mandan, we turn our sails in that direction and pull the big rig over, write the address down, and see what treasures await our arrival.

Sound barriers get broken trying to get to the address before others. And that's when our tactics are put into place. Tigger works from the outside in, BEC from the inside out. Each item is carefully scrutinized for its potential worth. But this is where the teamwork ends.

Which Buyer Are You???

Tigger gathers his desired items, makes his pile, and will simply pay the total of all said items. But Miss BEC, The Queen of The Barter, oh Heck NO!. If she can get it for a quarter less she will. The classic line "What will you take for this" comes out.... or more like BEC, "I'll give you ... for the whole pile!"

The Game...

The saying is true regardless of age, or where you're from... One man's junk is another man's treasure... so as we may or may not cross paths at the next garage sale this season... know that it's Game On when our rig pulls over!

The Score...

So here is our latest score cruising Bismarck - Mandan: 1 wheel barrel, 1 parts washer (planter for BEC), A box of solar lights, 1 sombrero, and a men's size large jacket. Tigger would have paid over $20. But the Queen of Barter scored the entire lot for a handful of change! "Would you take a quarter?"...
