The Drunkest City In North Dakota, SoDak, Minn, & Montana

Excessive drinking is no laughing matter.

It's well documented that North Dakota has a drinking problem in general.  What is really scary is that so many people in North Dakota decide to get behind the wheel after a night of tying one on.

I have no issues with drinking.  Unless it's causing a problem for you or somebody in your family, but you should especially never drink and drive.  Just don't do it.  You are not only putting your life in danger but other innocent people as well.

24/7 Wall Street put out their annual "Drunkest Cities" in each state.

Their data was based on the "percentage of men and women over 18 who reported heavy or binge drinking in each state’s metropolitan areas, then singled out the city or metropolitan area with the highest rate"

Another factor included in the ranking of each metropolitan area includes countywide driving deaths involving alcohol.

Before I get to North Dakota's drunkest town, let's look at our neighboring states.

Minnesota's drunkest city is Duluth.

Duluth's stats:

Adults who drink excessively: 24%

Countywide driving deaths involving alcohol: 38.2%

Duluth has a metro population of 291,931.

Montana's drunkest city is Bozeman.

Bozeman's stats:

Adults who drink excessively: 24.9%

Countywide driving deaths involving alcohol: 34.3%

Missoula has a metro population of 121,041.

South Dakota's drunkest city is Rapid City.

Rapid City's stats:

Adults who drink excessively: 21.1%

Countywide driving deaths involving alcohol: 39%

Rapid City has a metro population of 144,890.

And finally, North Dakota's Drunkest City is Bismarck!

Bismarck's stats:

Adults who drink excessively: 23.1%
