Though it is not technically autumn yet, we all know that Labor Day weekend was the unofficial last weekend of Summer. This time of year is definitely bittersweet because I love the spooky season, but I am also sad to leave the warm and sunny days behind and nervous as I anticipate the (most likely) treacherous winter weather that comes after the Fall.

But I'll totally get over the sad part about Winter coming and Summer going, because I am here to celebrate Fall. As a basic girl, this is my favorite time of the year. I love cool, crisp, dreary weather. I love the changing leaves. I love pumpkin patches and corn mazes. What else? I am sure my list of "Best things about the Fall" is nearly endless.

While I am sure that this year's Fall will be different than what we are used to, I think that we can still make the most of this wonderful season. There are still some local pumpkin patches and haunted houses in North Dakota that will be operating this year. And a scaled back Halloween, at home with the family, handing out candy to neighborhood kids might be better than another Halloween of bar-hopping in the cold.

Do you and your family have any fun fall plans this year?

Check out my gallery of the best things about this time of year (Pumpkin Spice DID NOT make the list. Sorry, but that's too basic. And gross):
