Strong System To Hit North Dakota Monday Could Bring Snow

A strong low-pressure system is expected to impact much of North Dakota starting Sunday night and linger into much of Tuesday.  This system will start out as rain after a warm weekend in North Dakota, but is expected to change over to snow on Monday.  Strong northwest winds will accompany this storm and could bring accumulating snow to parts of North Dakota.

As you can see by this graphic even Bismarck is expected to see some snowfall.  Will this be accumulating snow for Bismarck Mandan?  Will we be making snowmen and throwing snowballs at cars (do kids still do this?)?  Probably not.  It looks like there is a better chance points north and west of the Capitol City.  Places like Minot, Williston, and Devils Lake have a better shot of accumulating snow this time around.   However, we're still several days out and a lot could change over the next 5 days.

It's been so long since we've seen any sort of measurable precipitation in Bismarck Mandan, I think it's safe to say we will take what we can get.  Even snow?!  Yes!

The good news is that even if we do see accumulating snow in Bismarck Mandan don't look for it to stay long.  Temps are expected in the 40s most of next week and warming into the 50s by Halloween.

Halloween is still over 10 days away but temperatures look to be ABOVE normal for trick-or-treaters this year.  Hold your breath though ghouls and goblins as a lot could change by October 31st.

In the meantime, enjoy temperatures way above normal as we will see high temps in the mid-70s on Thursday and 60s for the weekend.  Break out the shorts one more time before the snow flies.
