Bismarck's New Rec Center will Feature a Playground

It was announced late last week that Bismarck is getting a new rec center in South Bismarck. The Paramount Development Group and Inland Oil & Gas say plans are in the works for Next Play Rec Center, a future-focused, multi-use recreational facility that will serve all ages and all levels of activity.

This recreational center is expected to be about more than just sports. The vision for the Next Play Rec Center is "Building community and investing in the next generation through spaces designed for movement, connection, and growth." The facility is expected to bring together sports, fitness, and everyday wellness under one roof, intended to appeal to both the youth and families. Now, you can also add "play" to this multi-purpose facility.

Introducing the Prairie Play and Indoor Playground

It appears this will be one of the many features of the Next Play Rec Center. It's being billed as an affordable way for families to get their kids out of the cold and run off some steam on those less-than-desirable cold days for Bismarck, Mandan, and Lincoln families.

There's no official opening date for the Next Play Rec Center or the Prairie Play and Indoor Playground, but a post on the Prairie Play and Indoor Playground Facebook page says they hope by next fall, just in time for another North Dakota Winter.

The Location of the Next Play Rec Center

The Next Play Rec Center will be located in south Bismarck at 2100 Vermont Avenue, in the former UNFI building right off of Airport Road. Developers say the center will support a variety of uses.

How is this Rec Center Being Funded?
