The Mandan Braves are trading up!

Mandan High School is set to move into its brand new futuristic high school on Wednesday, August 28th.

This high school along with Minot North, will be the two newest "AA" high schools in the state of North Dakota.

Go Big or Go Home!

The new Mandan High School is a very robust 335,000 square feet compared to the old Mandan High School where the square footage was only 165,000 feet.

The new Mandan High School parking lot will boast over 1,000 parking spots, compared to only 600 at its old location.

So many amenities at the new Mandan High School such as an outdoor amphitheater, that can be used for multi-purpose activities.

All classrooms have Apple TVs that will connect to the student's iPads.

Mandan High School's Principal is Mark Andersen and he was nice enough to show me around the school recently as hundreds of workers and contractors were working feverishly to finish up construction projects before the first day of school.

The new Mandan Gym is going to be MASSIVE!

A few of the projects will not be ready in time for the start of the school such as the main gym, but the majority of the work will be finished in time.  Speaking of the main gym, what an upgrade.  Here's a shot of it.

The old Mandan gym only held 1800 spectators.  The new Mandan gym will be able to hold 3,000 people with standing room.

The secondary auxiliary Mandan gym is ready to go now and here are a couple of shots of that.

You can expect the wrestling team will have its matches here.  Same with girls' volleyball, and of course physical education classes.

Other highlights of my tour include a huge state-of-the-art weight room with both cardio and free weights, Independent Living Training Apartments, an upgraded counseling area, and a teacher's prep room (something the old high school didn't have).

Here are some more shots of my tour. Enjoy and have a great school year Mandan High School!
