VIDEO Footage Of A Massive South Dakota Tornado

The same system that prompted a Tornado Watch for southeast North Dakota, including the Fargo area on Wednesday evening, spawned a massive tornado in South Dakota.

Storm Chaser's Incredible Tornado Footage

No doubt, the name Reed Timmer, the extreme meteorologist and storm chaser, will ring a bell for you. He spent a lot of time in North Dakota last summer with all of our tornado outbreaks. Not only that, he even conducted a symposium at the Belle Mehus Auditorium, talking about his storm chasing exploits back in February this year, titled "Team Dominator Show".

Not so Ideal

Reed was in Ideal, South Dakota, where not only did he capture some incredible tornado footage, but he got so close that the twister blew out the back window of his Ford F-150. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. Check out these very tense moments in the video below.

We have yet to have a confirmed tornado in North Dakota this year, but June historically is when we see the majority of our tornatic storms. Speaking of that, meteorologists are already pointing to next week in North Dakota, and how we could see powerful thunderstorms that could produce numerous severe weather events.
