Talk of Nuclear War

Something I've been hearing about since I was a very little kid. The end of the world. Unfortunately, where we live here in North Dakota, there is very little chance of surviving a nuclear onslaught. We would be at the top of the list of every enemy to destroy due to our nuclear stockpile and military bases.

Which Countries have Nuclear Weapons?

According to ICAN, there are a total of 9 countries that have nuclear capabilities, and some of them could be a threat to our country and the state of North Dakota. They include Russia, North Korea, Pakistan, France, Israel, India, the United Kingdom, China, and the United States of America. Iran, of course, had been close to nuclear capabilities before the recent conflict, which is currently in a very volatile ceasefire.

The 9 Countries and their Nuclear Stockpile

Russia - 5,459 warheads

United States - 5,177 warheads

China - 600 warheads

France - 290 warheads

United Kingdom - 225 warheads

Pakistan - 170 warheads

India - 180 warheads

Israel - 90 warheads

North Korea - 50 warheads

Several countries also share nuclear weapons, including Belarus, which hosts some of Russia's stockpile, while Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Turkey host U.S. nuclear weapons.

Which Countries Could be a Threat to North Dakota with a Nuke?

Russia, North Korea, and China would be the three biggest threats. It's widely believed Russia has North Dakota heavily in its nuclear crosshairs. India likely could not hit the U.S. or North Dakota by land with their nuclear weapons. Pakistan cannot hit North Dakota or the U.S. mainland with its nuclear weapons. The other countries on the list are considered our allies, and hopefully, we will never have to worry about them.
