We are just over two weeks away from another NDSU Bison football season.

The "thundering herd" will open up on Saturday, September 2nd at 2:30 pm at U.S. Bank Stadium home of the Minnesota Vikings against Eastern Washington.  Although this will be a neutral site game, you can expect a sea of green and gold to invade "The Bank" as Minneapolis is a short 3 and a 1/2 hour drive from Fargo.

The pre-season rankings are out and once again the Bison are near the top.

According to the preseason FCS coaches poll, North Dakota State is ranked #2 behind South Dakota State.  North Dakota (where I attended college) is ranked #18 and is expected to be a dark horse in the Missouri Valley Conference this year.

The Bison and the Fighting Hawks will match up on Saturday, October 14th at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.  NDSU and UND matchups are always special, but this year could be even more interesting as the Fighting Hawks could be even more competitive this season.

North Dakota State deserves all the recognition it receives each season regarding football.

They are a true dynasty in FCS and could probably hold their own in several of the FBS conferences.  In fact, ESPN just gave the North Dakota State football program some serious love, grouping them in with the likes of Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Michigan.

That's right, North Dakota State ranked in the top 10 of the Top 150 College Football Programs of All-Time!  This is according to metrics created by ESPN stats and info.

Yet another thing to love about the coming fall.  A heaping helping of college football.  I'm so ready for it.  How about you?
