Why This October Is Going To Be So Rare In North Dakota
Autumn in North Dakota

My absolute favorite season is here, and we are about to roll into my month of the year too. Yep, I love October for so many reasons.
1. Hunting seasons (waterfowl and upland game birds)
2. Some of the best fishing of the year (fall fishing can be epic if you love to catch big fish)
3. Cool Crip weather (give me October weather over 90 degrees any day)
4. The fall colors (I just love the red, orange, and yellow of the season)
5. Football season (Skol)
6. Spooky season (I love all things Halloween)

Just a few reasons why October rules the calendar in my book, but did you know this particular October is going to be extra special? We are just a few days away from 3 things that don't happen very often in October.

3 Reasons Why October is so Rare This Year
1. There are actually 5 Saturdays this month. More time for the corn maze, the pumpkin patch, to hunt and fish, and enjoy the fall colors.
2. Halloween actually falls on a Saturday this year. Something I believe should happen permanently. It totally makes sense for so many reasons. Read more about that below.

3. We set our clocks back on Halloween night. Technically November 1st at 2 am, but if you enjoy your Halloween late night parties, you actually get an extra hour of Halloween.

Take it All In
Everything from the weather to the celebrations. October is special in North Dakota, that's for sure. Enjoy the season.
