A treasure for kids of all ages, ND Heritage Center is wrapping up summer with Dinosaurs and Rockets!

A stellar treasure for the entire state of North Dakota is located right here in Bismarck.  You've probably heard of the North Dakota Heritage Center..but you've never been there. Even though it's free?

It's the state's oldest museum that now features four huge galleries that dive into the history of the great state of North Dakota. It's prehistoric. It's pioneer life on the plains. It's mankind's journey to space, and mankind's struggles to survive and thrive in North Dakota's often challenging "space".

But still you're sitting at home thinking..."meh."

So what kind of spin can I put on this to change your mind?

It's free and it's air-conditioned!

The kids are driving you crazy...so why not take a short trip to Bismarck for a fun little excursion?  Don't expect to spend your whole day there (although you could).  Just stop by and you can say you've done it!  I bet ya come back!

If you have toddlers or preschoolers and want to plan a day that starts with an interactive experience for the kids...consider one of these August outings:

Little Kids, Big World: Sound Scavenger Hunt

Sunday August 15th 11 AM-11:30 AM

Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to this free interactive learning series where they will search for the objects in the museum that make sound and create their own noisemakers.
These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and are asked to meet at the east entrance information desk. "Little Kids, Big World" is led by Sarah Fox, who has teaching endorsements in STEM 1-8, middle school 5-8, and kindergarten, and has taught for more than 10 years.

Little Kids, Big World: Rockets are a Blast!
