What's the old saying? "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach".

There might be something to that. Men especially appreciate a thoughtful meal prepared to perfection.

Throw in a glass of wine, an appetizer, and the ambiance of a fine restaurant, and it is all but certain to make the sparks fly. After all, who can resist a cozy room and a candlelit booth? Add the smell of a broiled steak prepared to medium or medium rare, and get ready to knock some boots.

This is exactly what you get with the lone restaurant that was chosen in North Dakota as one of the most romantic in the United States. Only one North Dakota restaurant made this prestigious list, while other states had several.

In fact, this restaurant in North Dakota was among the top 100 most romantic restaurants in 2024 and again in 2025.

This list comes from OpenTable, which compiles its annual list of the top 100 most romantic restaurants every year in America.

OpenTable, by the way, is a real-time online booking network for fine dining.

Their data was based on 12 million dinner reviews that had their patrons raving about their experiences.  I mean, after all, food can be its own love language, right?

Before we get to North Dakota's "Best of the Best", when it comes to combining fine dining and romance, let's look at the restaurants that made the list from our surrounding states.

Surprisingly, not a single restaurant made the list in South Dakota or Montana again this year (same with last year).  I would've thought someplace in Deadwood or perhaps Rapid City would've made the cut.

Same with the Big Sky state. So many scenic spots, you would think there would be a romantic restaurant nestled in Montana somewhere?

Minnesota only had one restaurant make the list in 2025. Last year, they had three. The lone restaurant from the land of 10,000 lakes to make the top 100 list was the Baldamar in Roseville.

That brings us to the restaurant that has put North Dakota on the map for romance and fine dining.  It's none other than Harry's Steakhouse in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Harry's Steakhouse is located in downtown Grand Forks and is a favorite for couples on a big date night or before a UND sporting event.  Harry's address is 421 Demers Avenue. Harry's has a solid 4.9 rating out of 5 in the article.

If you like steak, seafood, chops, and cocktails, this is the place for you.  Next time you're on the east side of the state, it might be just the place to impress your date.
