I know it's been a "thing" for a while, but I feel like "brunch" is really gaining popularity in our society.

In case you are wondering about brunch and exactly what it is, I have the answer for you. Brunch is generally considered to be between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The name means exactly what you would expect. It's when you combine breakfast and lunch.

Back in my party days, brunch was especially popular with college kids as they would sleep off a late night of drinking and wake up about 10 a.m. and go grab something to eat.

Remember the TV sitcom "How I Met Your Mother"? Brunch was a popular activity with that group of friends. I miss that show.

Here's another little nugget for you that has "brunch" popular with people today.

You have probably heard that more and more people are now fasting for health reasons.

According to Healthline, fasting is thought to have numerous health benefits for people, backed by science, such as helping with insulin resistance, weight loss, better brain function, inflammation, heart health, longevity, and even cancer prevention.

Have you heard of the 16/8 intermittent fasting method?

It's something that I have been doing now for a couple of weeks. It's a pretty simple concept: you restrict your calorie intake to only 8 hours each day. You fast daily for 16 hours at a time. For me, that means no food after 6 p.m., and I skip breakfast each day and eat a light one at 10 a.m. I then eat lunch at noon, and dinner at 5:30 p.m.

This fasting method works perfectly for the "brunch lifestyle. You get the same benefits as listed above. If you are looking to lose some weight or receive some other health benefits, this might be for you. I'm not a Doctor, so please consult with yours before you start something like this.
