One North Dakota campground has made a list of the top 10 best in the United States.

I have to admit, I'm not a guy who is likely to pitch a tent in the great outdoors. I love the great outdoors, but I also love my ESPN Sports Center, and a hot shower in my own bathroom before I go to bed, so I'm more of a cabin guy than an RV or tent person.

With that being said, people love their campers in North Dakota.

Just about every summer Friday afternoon, you will see a parade of campers heading out to their favorite campsites all across North Dakota. Lake Sakakawea, New Johns, Beaver Lake, Medora, Lake Oahe, and so many others. Some of these campgrounds are even free.

An article online recently caught my eye about the top 10 campgrounds in the United States of America.

According to the Dyrt, one North Dakota campground stands out as one of the best not only in North Dakota but in the country.

North Dakota's Scoria Pit in Medora, North Dakota, is the 8th best in the country!

Not only is this campground picturesque with a breathtaking view, but you can even camp there for FREE on a first-come, first-served basis.

The article called this campground a bucket-list item for hardcore campers with panoramic views.

Plenty of wildlife for you to enjoy, such as prairie dogs, bison, and more. The article claims the site's natural beauty and solitude will make you forget about amenities. Hmmm, that better be one helluva view for that to work for me.
