BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A satellite TV company has been told to stop going door-to-door in North Dakota until authorities can investigate complaints of misleading and aggressive sales tactics.

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has ordered Dish One Satellite, LLC, of Provo, Utah, to suspend all sales and installations of satellite TV services in the state.

Stenehjem says they have received complaints that sales representatives for the company have been elusive about their employer. Some claimed to work for Midcontinent or DirecTV.

There have been reports that sales people have claimed they were checking for installation or service problems and once inside the home, badgered consumers and refused to leave.

Stenehjem says he is reserving his decision on a possible cease and desist order or other formal action until the investigation is complete.
