Rainfall Totals: Heavy October Rain For Parts Of North Dakota!
What a CRAZY last few months of weather we have had in North Dakota!
Of course, we just saw one of the wildest days of weather ever on Sunday, September 14th. That's saying something after the spring and summer we have experienced. Some of the forecasts from the TV meteorologists were saying we had about a 5 percent chance of tornadoes on that day. Well, we sure saw all of that 5 percent as at least 13 twisters were confirmed by the National Weather Service in Bismarck.
In fact, we just broke a record for the most tornado warnings in a single year, with 88.
That was according to the National Weather Service. We also absolutely SHATTERED North Dakota's September tornado record.
By the way, we have also seen tornadoes in North Dakota in October before. It's not common, but it has happened. With the number of twisters we have seen this year, nothing would surprise us going forward, right?
