New Salem, North Dakota’s New Saloon With Its Grand Opening
New Salem, North Dakota, home of Salem Sue, the world's largest Holstein has a new watering hole.
It actually opened up in June of 24, but due to North Dakota Country Fest, and numerous other events this past summer, this bar never had its official Grand Opening.
That is all about to change for the Golden Nugget Saloon in New Salem, North Dakota.
The Golden Nugget is located at 1200 North 8th Street in the Golden West building. If the name sounds a little familiar to you, that's because this was the same name of the bar that was in the exact location but had been closed for 20-plus years.
I spoke with one of the owners of the Golden Nugget Saloon, Michell Peterson earlier today. She along with her husband Levi decided to resurrect the Golden Nugget from the ashes and bring it back to the New Salem community.
They were very careful in keeping the look of the new Golden Nugget as close to the original as possible. Michell said they wanted to keep the nostalgia and the same feel of the bar that many people knew and loved for so many years.
Here are the details for The Golden Nugget Saloon's Grand Opening Celebration.
It's coming up on Friday, November 1st, and Saturday, November 2nd. On Friday, there will be a corn hole tourney starting at 7 pm. Cash prizes will be awarded and you are asked to register between 6 and 6:45 pm.
On Saturday, there will be a Halloween costume party with Backstage Pass performing from 8 to 12 noon.
The Golden Nugget is open 6 days a week:
Wednesday-Saturday from noon to 2 am.
Sunday from noon to 10 pm.
Tuesday from 3 pm to 2 am.
We wish the Golden Nugget all the best in their new venture in New Salem.
