Not a lot of information about this one but a new store is coming to the Kirkwood Mall in Bismarck, North Dakota.  Asian Body Works Spa is set to open in Kirkwood Mall on Thursday, June 23rd, in exactly two weeks from today.

We don't know a lot about this business.

We can tell you it's not a chain store and it's independently owned and operated.

Kirkwood Mall will also open up Thrifty White Drug store in their parking lot on Monday, June 13th.  They will join the likes of Blaze Pizza and Chick-fil-A, also in the parking lot at Kirkwood Mall.

Kirkwood Mall has seen a huge expansion in tenants over the last couple of years.

While other malls across the state and country for that matter continue to lose tenants, Kirkwood Mall remains viable.  Besides West Acres, it really is the only other mall that continues to attract customers and stores for that matter.  According to Retail Dive, the malls across America continue to come tumbling down.  The pandemic certainly didn't help the situation, but there was a large decline even before.  I think of the Columbia Mall in Grand Forks where I grew up and how that mall is a skeleton version of what it was back in the 90s.  The current mall vacancy rate in the article is around 10 percent.  I would be willing to guess some malls in North Dakota are much higher.

Kirkwood Mall sure seems to be ahead of the curve when it comes to attracting tenants.
