The University of North Dakota "Fighting Hawks" hockey team was playing the Arizona State Sun Devils in Tempe, Arizona this past weekend.

Several hundred North Dakota fans made the trip to sunny and warm Arizona to cheer on their favorite hockey team. After all, Allegiant Airlines flights are pretty cheap and UND hockey fans travel very well (much like Bison football fans).

A big group of North Dakota fans were pre-gaming at a local establishment prior to the game when a North Dakota State University Bison fan decided to crash the party.

It's not what he said or did that ruffled the feathers of North Dakota hockey fans, but what he wore. (WARNING: Not Safe For Work)

I spoke to the woman who snapped the photo of this Bison fan. He was also wearing Arizona State gear (sweatshirt and ball cap).

This woman said she spoke to this man for a while, and he was clueless about his offensive t-shirt. Yes, Sioux Suck shirts were pretty common during the heydays of the UND-NDSU rivalry before each school turned D1, but this shirt has an extra layer to it.

WARNING: Extremely offensive...(try blowing up the t-shirt photo to see what I mean).

She told the guy it wasn't cool to wear this shirt to a UND hockey party, and he seemed clueless about the offensive nature of the t-shirt. In fact, he was pretty proud of it. She asked the Bison fan if she could take a picture of the shirt and he even posed for the shot.

Cooler heads prevailed and nothing came of the situation, and UND fans left the bar to watch UND beat Arizona State 4-3 in OT that evening.

It's just amazing to me, that in this day and age, how some people can lack sensitivity, offending not only Native Americans but wanting to stir up trouble.
