Emerging from their Trump era bomb shelters. North Dakota's congressional delegation now try to rediscover the voice they once had.

Was the delegation under house arrest the last four years?

To be fair, a lot of people ducked out of sight during the pandemic, but they probably weren't officials that were duly elected to represent an entire state's electorate.  I was going to say "diverse" electorate, but Facebook might have sent me to jail for spreading false information.  To state that North Dakota is politically diverse is basically just saying there's Republicans, and then there's also those Bastiat(?) Republicans.  Democrats don't even number enough to get a checkbox for "other".

It wasn't literal "bombs" they were avoiding, it was the daily twitter-storm.

Under Trump's tyranny of tweets, even the most reasonable Republicans could get whack-a-moled for no apparent reason.  So like our flickertails, they hid from the tweeting hawk until it was safe to come out.

At least that's how I see it.

I am certain that Representative Kelly Armstrong, Senator Kevin Conrad, and my man-crush Senator John Hoeven would have been most important flag bearers in a Republican led Administration, if not for all the threats and bullying.  Who does that?

Donald Trump of course. From Newsweek.com

"Joe Biden's infrastructure bill will be used against the Republican Party in the upcoming elections in 2022 and 2024. It will be very hard for me to endorse anyone foolish enough to vote in favor of this deal," Trump said in an official statement.

Infrastructure is something we should all believe in. Good roads, safe buildings, functional ports...it all leads to jobs and it costs a lot of money.  So we should probably write some kind of big check to get it done. Seems Kevin Cramer is active in the task at hand.  Good for him...the more we hear from our ND delegation out leading the narrative, the more hopeful I get that cooler minds prevail.

Senator Cramer to the podium please...on Fox News

“It’s not just infrastructure — it’s roads and bridges specifically. In addition to that, there’s ports, waterways, railroads, airports, broadband, all of which are critical to the movement of goods and services around the country and around the world,” Cramer said. “We couldn’t get North Dakota soybeans to South Korea if we didn’t have ports in the Pacific Northwest. and we certainly couldn’t get pasta in New York without trucks getting the wheat from the field to the bins and then off to the mills and the factories.”

The Senator, who mind you is up for reelection in 2024, also said this on Fox.

“He didn’t give one reason why it’s a bad deal, other than it’s Joe Biden’s [bill] ... I think he’s wrong on this issue,”

Agree or disagree...I just say welcome back y'all.  Let's get governing!
