ND Biker: ‘Safety Course Saved My Life’
If you ride a motorcycle, or plan to learn, take the advice of Bob Haas. The Bismarck, North Dakota biker credits a popular motorcycle safety course with saving his life.
West Dakota Fox says Mr. Haas avoided a potentially fatal crash last summer by executing a turn maneuver he learned in the course.
Executive Director Lonnie Bertsch says learning to ride is a lifelong endeavor: "You're never really done learning riding a motorcycle. Every time I ride a motorcycle, on the street, there's something different than before.
""It's so easy to get in trouble out on the street on a motorcycle. There are so many things that can go wrong,"
The safety organization known as ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) offers the course periodically in North Dakota and a number of other states.
Motorcycles enthusiasts highly recommend the course for beginners and experienced riders alike. For more information about ABATE in North Dakota go here.
