The sun was out, it was hot and it was a great day to celebrate National Ice Cream Month in Bismarck.

Many people took advantage of the cold ice cream on a hot day, Sunday at the North Dakota State Capital for National Ice Cream Day.

The benefit was organized by Tracy's Sanctuary House.  TSH provides temporary housing for out-of-town families during a time when their loved one is in a life-threatening crisis. The purpose is to offer this “home away from home” as a place of privacy, comfort and compassion to these individuals.

The kids enjoyed face painting, bouncing houses and ice cream with all of the toppings plus root beer floats.
