Menards Requiring All Customers To Wear Masks July 13th
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, starting one week from today...Monday, July 13th, masks will be required when shopping at Menards here in Bismarck. I spoke with a Menards team member about the mandate on the phone last night to confirm this story.
Although, this will be new to Bismarck, many of the Menards stores across the country have already had this order in place. This mandate comes as many states have seen a major spike in coronavirus cases over the last couple of weeks. California, Texas, Florida & Arizona have put new restrictions in place or delayed openings. Kansas announced last week that masks or face coverings are now required in all public places. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced last week, he is considering making face coverings mandatory in all public places as well.
The Menards team member I spoke to said if you do not have a mask or face covering, you may purchase one for 79 cents at the store. These are temporary disposable masks. I asked the employee if any team member from Menards has tested positive for COVID-19 in Bismarck and he said, "Not that he was aware of." According to this team member, Menards employees have been wearing masks since the pandemic began. Wearing masks will help protect employees from catching the virus.
It should be interesting to see if this mandate will have a ripple effect on other stores across Bismarck Mandan. Will Lowes follow suit? Either way, if you don't own a mask yet, it might be time to get one if you want to shop in certain stores.
