Man Pleads “Not Guilty” in Oil Patch Drug Case

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — One of two men accused in an oil patch drug case involving methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and marijuana has pleaded not guilty to eight counts.

The Williston Herald reports 32-year-old Jose Villalpando is charged with four counts of delivery of a controlled substance and four counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities say a search warrant in the case led to 9 ounces of meth, 8.8 ounces of heroin, 6 pounds of marijuana and about an ounce of cocaine.

Villalpando has said through an interpreter that the drugs belonged to Porifirio Jimenez, who is also charged in the case. Jimenez is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 15.

Villalpando and Jimenez are each being held on $2 million bond.
