WINTER STORM WARNING FOR BISMARCK-MANDAN

I hope you made the run to the supermarket for the milk and eggs! The Bismarck-Mandan areas are under the influence of a MAJOR WINTER STORM WARNING . It is almost tax time deadline and not only do we get a winter storm warning, it is a MAJOR WINTER STORM WARNING, PLUS A BLIZZARD WARNING. Last year on this date on the tax deadline day (April 15th) is was sunny and 77 degrees. What a difference a year makes. At no time this winter did we ever receive a foot of snow at one time in the Bismarck-Mandan area. Travel conditions are very dangerous and travel is not advised! Before any road travel, you should check conditions by dialing 511. Expect road and interstate highway closures due to heavy and blowing snow conditions that will exist for the next 24 hours.

Snowy Weather

Here is the lowdown. The Bismarck-Mandan have the possibility of receiving 9-12 inches in the Jamestown to Fargo areas and even more into Minnesota. Some areas could receive more than 12 inches of snow-up to 18 inches of wet, heavy snow.

This area can expect heavy-wet snow all day Sunday before coming to an end on early Monday.Check with your airline before going to the airport. Locally, we can expect up to a foot of snow. This snow will be that back breaking heavy wet snow. Also be aware that travel by road, highways or air could be impacted.
