Why North Dakotans Should Wear Pink This Monday
If you ever needed a legitimate reason to wear pink, this is it.
As a kid, I remember my favorite color was, of course, pink. My room was pink, my clothes were pink. My dolls all wore pink. Everything was just PINK.
Did you know there is a special day dedicated to the color?
Well, there is, and it's coming up this Monday (June 23rd).
Get out your favorite pink attire and get ready to represent National Pink Day.
According to NationalToday.com, National Pink Day is celebrated every year on June 23rd.
The source says the color has a pretty interesting history. The word "Pink" was first used in the 1700s. Before that, it was just considered/called pale red.
The word "Pink" was actually what people used to call a particular type of flower. Eventually, it evolved into what it is now.
Think about the impact the color has had on us over the years. Just think about all the songs with pink in the title!
Pink Cadillac - Bruce Springsteen
Pink - Aerosmith
Pink Guitar - Reba McEntire
Pink Sunglasses - Miranda Lambert
Honestly, there are so many songs that mention the color that I dare not try to list them all; you get the point.
There are places in Bismarck-Mandan that are celebrating the holiday. The Super Slide Amusement Park announced on Facebook, that they are celebrating National Pink Day. If you show up to the park wearing pink, you get free slide rides all day. How cool is that?!
