LEGO-Themed Store Coming To Bismarck This Fall
We're always looking for fun things to do with the kids. In the summer, we can stroll through the parks, hop on the river, or even visit any of the local pools. In the winter, however, it's a little bit more difficult to find things to do. When the seasons start to change, we have to switch gears and get more creative.
Here's some good news for North Dakota parents: a LEGO store is coming to Bismarck, and it will be here sooner than you think. The announcement came through a post on Facebook by one of the owners. I reached out to get the scoop!
ReBecka Wohl and her husband have been running a mobile/e-commerce business for the last four years, called BisMan Bricks. It all started because of their son.
"We had purchased a bulk lot, and it was too much for him, so we began sorting it out into individual sets for him so it was more manageable," said Wohl.
She went on to say that after spending time understanding the nature of buying and selling the product, it became both a way to supplement the cost of their LEGO hobby.
About 6 months after that, we began selling on a live auction website, and two years ago now we opened our BrickLink store. Putting it all together, it’s going to be a fun and crazy journey of learning and building (or disassembling)," said Wohl.
Now the couple has decided to set up an extension of that business, BisMan BrickBus. They opened a permanent location in town for the people of Bismarck-Mandan to enjoy.
I asked Wohl what people can expect from the store.
"People can expect to find a larger selection of what we have already offered through our e-commerce business, as well as new to North Dakota options like an in-store parts wall, pull-a-part. We will also offer bulk LEGOs, single minifigs, and new and pre-owned sets with an eye towards hard-to-find and retired items, said Wohl.
The store's hours of operation are as follows:
W-Th 5:30-8:30,
Friday 1:30-8:30
Sat from 10-6.
BisMan Bricks will have its soft opening on September 3rd. The main store opening in scheduled for September 27th, which happens to coincide with Local Comic Book Day.
BisMan Bricks is located at 106 N Mandan St, Bismarck, in the basement of the Antiques on Main building (side entrance).
We intend to soft open on Sept 3 with our main store opening scheduled for Sept 27, which is also Local Comic Book Day and will be a big event for Comic Realms and the other neighboring stores!
Note: BisMan Bricks is not part of the LEGO Store franchise. This is an independently owned, local business.
