For almost 80 years, McQuade's Distributing has been a family business here in Bismarck

We are familiar with McQuade's in so many ways; for almost 80 years, they have been around here in Bismarck. According to bismarckcafe.com "McQuade Distributing is a regional distributor of Anheuser-Busch products, based in Bismarck. The company was founded in 1947 as M&S Distributing by Sam W. McQuade and Stanton Billy Simonson upon purchasing Capitol Sales Company. McQuade purchased full interest in the company in 1951 and renamed it McQuade Distributing. The company’s partnership with Anheuser-Busch began in 1955"

That run of almost 80 years recently came to an end

Just a few days ago, McQuade Distributing was sold to a company based in Iowa. Doll Distributing also operates in two other states besides North Dakota and Iowa, as well as Minnesota and South Dakota. One of the most popular events of the year here in Bismarck is the McQuade softball tournament, which has been around since 1976 ( with 103 teams at the inaugural )

So, of course, the big question most people have either silently thought of, or have asked out loud -

"Will the summer tradition continue?" According to mcquades.com

"The USA's Largest non-profit, single weekend slowpitch softball tournament brings together players, families and fans from all over the United States and Canada. It’s held the last full weekend in June every year..."

Great news for all, "YES," the softball tournament WILL continue. According to kfyrtv.com " Shannon McQuade-Ely, has been president of the company since 2004. She says the McQuade Charity Softball tournament will continue.

How awesome is that!!!!!!
