I always thought you picked it up at a young age - according to idsociety.org "Measles is a highly contagious viral infection that frequently causes a severe flu-like illness accompanied by a rash. Complications occur in 3 in 10 who get measles, and young children are especially vulnerable" That last sentence says it all on what's going on in Williston, North Dakota.

Isolation is underway for the unvaccinated students

"About 180 Williston-area students are isolating at home after three schools were notified by public health officials of measles exposure on their campuses" according to northdakotamonitor.com -

"Unvaccinated students at Missouri Ridge Elementary, Williston Middle School and Williston High School were told they need to isolate for 21 days to ensure they were not infected, said Paula Lankford, spokesperson for Williston Basin School District 7. The precaution is to prevent students from unknowingly spreading the virus to others"

Someone pointed out that one encouraging note "What’s obviously on our side is that there is not that much school left. We are done here on May 23rd.”
