If you’ve ever walked out of a polling place proudly wearing your “I Voted” sticker like a badge of honor, get ready for a new look—North Dakota is letting the people decide once again. Secretary of State Michael Howe is inviting North Dakotans of all ages to help choose the state’s next official “I Voted” sticker through the “I Voted – More Than Just a Sticker” contest.
This time around, creativity showed up in a big way. A total of 478 entries poured in from 72 communities across the state, proving that civic pride is alive and well from kindergarten classrooms to kitchen tables and everywhere in between. After sorting through hundreds of colorful, imaginative designs, five finalists have been selected—and now it’s your turn to vote.

Coming in 2026: A North Dakota–Designed “I Voted” Sticker Takes Center Stage
The winning design will be announced in March 2026 and will make its official debut at polling places during the June 9, 2026 Primary Election. That means the next time you step out of a voting booth, you’ll be sporting a sticker chosen by fellow North Dakotans. Not a bad way to show off your civic duty.
The designer of the winning sticker won’t just earn statewide bragging rights. They’ll also receive a professionally framed copy of their artwork and special recognition from Secretary Howe during an unveiling ceremony in Bismarck.
It’s been a few years since North Dakota last refreshed its voting sticker. The previous statewide contest, held ahead of the 2020 election cycle, invited fourth graders to submit designs under a program sponsored by the North Dakota County Auditors Association. This time, the door was open even wider—and the results show it.
So take a minute, cast your vote, and help decide which design North Dakotans will proudly wear at the polls in 2026. You can vote online here, and remember, it’s more than just a sticker—it’s a small symbol of a big responsibility.
