Apparently, North Dakota has the dubious title of the least visited state in the lower 48 states.

Yep, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the Peace Garden State isn't a mecca for tourists to visit.

I ran across this meme recently, and it made me chuckle for a second. Not because I agree with it, but most North Dakotans are glad it's this way. Do we really want a bunch of tourists running around our state? We like the wide open spaces, light traffic, and keeping the riff-raff out.

Here's that map showing where you vacation in the United States and why you go there.

Yep, Luke Combs should've sung "Ain't No Love In North Dakota" or FOR North Dakota, rather than Oklahoma. North Dakota...Where you NEVER go. HA!

Not a whole lot of respect for NoDak. Just a quick search online and the same ol' stereotypes were spit out.

"It's so flat". "No major tourist destinations". "It's so cold in the winter". "No major cities with nothing to do", etc.

What about real numbers? Is North Dakota really that shunned when it comes to tourists?

According to a study from Statista, North Dakota is the 2nd least visited state in the country, trailing only Alaska. Let's face it, the only reason North Dakota is ahead of Alaska is because of Alaska's remoteness.

Here's a video that runs down the 5 least visited states in the United States from the same survey.

Oh well, let those tourists find other states to trample through. They probably wouldn't appreciate the subtle beauty of our state anyway.
