North Dakota is a mecca for duck hunting.

My son is a hunting sales specialist for Scheels, and he often tells me all the people he meets from all over the country who come to hunt waterfowl in North Dakota. Alaska to New York, California to Florida, and everywhere between.

This includes celebrities, athletes, and musicians. The word is out: North Dakota has the ducks and geese, and it's especially a great place for freelance hunters.

Some of my celebrity encounters who LOVE North Dakota for duck hunting.

I know when we had Parker McCollum in Bismarck back in October, who is a big duck hunter from Texas, he told me he definitely has plans to come back to North Dakota to hunt in the future. I tried to get him to join my crew for a Spec and Mallard hunt in the morning, but he had to fly out that night.

When I was backstage with Lainey Wilson a couple of summers back, she told me all about her fiancé, Delvin "Duck" Hodges (that's his real name), who is appropriately named and a former NFL quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and that he comes back to hunt in North Dakota just about every year. Duck is a duck fanatic and cherishes his time in our state each year.

I even ran into Brad Pitt at a restaurant a while back, who was in town to chase some North Dakota ducks.

You can add another celebrity who enjoys hunting ducks in North Dakota: Chase Rice!

I saw Chase Rice at WE Fest a couple of years back, and he even brings his beloved black lab hunting dog on stage with him at every show. Well, it looks like his pup is doing well and had a good time in North Dakota, too. Check out this pic from Chase from last week in North Dakota.

Yep, North Dakota is a pretty awesome place to be if you love to fish and hunt like I do. Next time you are on the backroads, keep a watchful eye out during hunting season, you never know who you could run into.
