Just about everybody has a favorite something. A favorite gas station, a favorite park, a favorite radio station (hopefully it's one of ours at Townsquare Media), and even a favorite child (I was the black sheep of my family, so I wouldn't know about that).

How about a Favorite Grocery Store?

As somebody who spends a lot of time in one each week, not to mention a lot of money, I know I have my favorite grocer. In Bismarck-Mandan, our choices include CashWise, Family Fare, Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, Target, and Natural Grocers. I know there are a lot of people who like Aldi and wish it would come to western North Dakota. The only Aldi locations currently in the state are in Fargo and Grand Forks.

I will say this about CashWise in Bismarck. I think more often than not, their prices are very fair, a good rewards program, and their shopping carts are like butter. They ride so smoothly, you feel like you are floating on air. It's the little things in life, right?

Hornbacher's in Fargo

Hornbacher's is North Dakota's favorite supermarket chain, with a half dozen locations in Fargo. Hornbacher's was founded in 1951, and it's been in the Fargo area for decades. My mother lived in Fargo for a while, and I had the pleasure of shopping at this grocery store several times. I can even smell their bakery in my mind while I type this. I'm craving maple/cinnamon rolls as we speak. The bakery was mentioned as a draw, along with good deals and customer service.
