A Peek Inside The New Eclipse Venue In Bismarck
Borrowed Buck Hold My Beer
I was lucky enough to spend some time in the all-new Eclipse Venue in Bismarck, located in the old Borrowed Bucks location at 3rd and Front Avenue. The transformation of this building is truly amazing.
One of the owners, Mike Frohlic, took me on a tour of his new wedding/events/concerts venue, and I couldn't believe my eyes. As somebody who spent a fair amount of time in the old Borrowed Bucks, I couldn't believe what I just saw.
Frohlic also owns the Laughing Sun, another favorite watering hole in the Capital Region. He told me he came up with the name "Elcipse" after workshopping the idea with others, and the name is an extension of the Laughing Sun.
Great Venue for Intimate Concerts
I could see somebody like Tigirlily Gold rockin' the house in this spot. Its capacity is 607, and features a great stage area and two floors to view the show. Oh yeah, and the sound in this building is phenomenal. Tremendous acoustics. The Eclipse has a big weekend planned here in a couple of weeks for the McQuades Softball Tournament, with several concerts lined up, in the spirit of when Borrowed Bucks used to do the same thing in this location.
First Class Wedding Venue
We're talking luxurious rooms for both the bride and bridesmaids, and the groom and groomsmen. They are already booking wedding receptions into 2027. It almost makes me want to get married again. Almost.
You can find out more about the Eclipse venue here. It's now open, and we wish Mike and the crew the best of luck in their new venture.
