I don't know how I missed this before, but Tim Tebow was in Bismarck recently. He came to Bismarck-Mandan to speak a benefit dinner called "Vans for Life."

Keynote Speaker

The goal of the "Vans for Life" organization is to get mobile ultrasound vans throughout the country. These vans are usually parked outside of abortion clinics; they offer ultrasounds and other services to soon-to-be-moms.

An event was held at the Bismarck Event Center, Thursday May 19th and Friday, May 20th, where Tebow was the keynote speaker. The proceeds from this event were said to go toward a van for the "North Dakota Right to Life" organization.

Spotted In Bismarck

Tebow was seen all over the city of Bismarck during his stay. I noticed Mandan's Baymont Inn & Suites even posted a picture of him on the hotel's Facebook page.

Tebow stayed at the Baymont for the entirety of his Bisman visit.

About Tebow

If you're like me, and you don't speak fluent sports, let me break it down for you. Tim Tebow was a professional football player. He won a Heisman Trophy back in 2007 while he was still in college.

In 2010 he was drafted to the NFL to play for the Denver Broncos. He later went on to play for the New York Jets, New England Patriots and then the Philadelphia Eagles. He also worked for the SEC network (an affiliate of ESPN) as an analyst.

More Than An Athlete

Even someone like me, who knows nothing about sports, has heard of Tim Tebow. He's not only famous for his athletic abilities, but also for being really outspoken on social media. He's known for posting inspiring messages to his followers, and has garnered quite a reputation for doing so.

If you know anything about Tebow, you know he's a devout Christian; he does philanthropy work across the country and has even published a book that spent more than 20 weeks on the NY Times Bestseller list. The book is called "Through My Eyes." This stop in North Dakota is another philanthropic effort for Tebow.
