According to USA Today, many people will not get Christmas presents on time if the carrier was UPS. According to officials at UPS, they made a miscalculation and underestimated the number of packages that needed to be shipped, which means that many folks did got get their holiday present if shipped via UPS.

UPS, the world’s largest package delivery service, told CNN that demand for packages was much higher than they expected, and their system was overwhelmed.

The delays are nationwide although officials at UPS could not give CNN an exact number of late deliveries. Officials say UPS drivers will deliver packages on Christmas Eve, but will not deliver on Christmas Day. Workers at the Louisville hub will work on Wednesday night after the holiday with their families to sort packages so they can be delivered on Thursday according to a UPS official.
