Changes Coming to the Dickens Village Festival

The Dickens Village Festival in Garrison, North Dakota, has been a three-weekend extravaganza for as long as I can remember, but that is changing. Beginning this year, the Dickens Village Festival will take place over two weekends.

First question? Why the change? Festival organizers say that focusing on two weekends rather than three, it will give their team a "little rejuvenation" while keeping the magic strong for years to come, according to a post on their Facebook Page.

I can only imagine all the work that goes into pulling off a festival like this. Countless hours of planning, which no doubt takes a small village to pull off. I believe the message behind the announcement is that now the festival will be even more jam-packed with holiday fun and easier to organize over a shorter time period.

What Two Weekends?

The Dickens Village Festival will begin this year on Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, November 27th and November 28th, and then on the following weekend on Friday and Saturday, December 4th and December 5th, 2026.
