Devils Lake Jail Officer Accused of Sexual Assault

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — Authorities are preparing to charge a correctional officer accused of having sexual contact with an inmate at the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center in Devils Lake.

KZZY radio reports that the male officer allegedly had sexual contact with a female inmate in a jail cell on July 3.

Authorities are preparing to file a sexual assault charge that carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison.
