Burleigh County, ND Highway Dpt. Issues Warning For This Road
There's a section-line road south of Lincoln, North Dakota, right off of 52nd Street South, next to the Copper Ridge Development, that the Burleigh County Highway Department just issued a NEW dangerous warning for.
This Section-Line Road is 62nd Avenue South
Here's a look at where this road is. It's roughly a few miles south of the city of Lincoln. The dangerous stretch of road runs just west of the intersection of 52nd Street South, which runs along a quarter section of state land. It's basically a field trail with numerous hazards that can be tricky even during perfect driving conditions in the summer.
What are the Hazards on this Road?
In the wintertime, it's very easy to get stuck. Four-wheel joyriders frequently try to make it through on this road and often get stranded. I've witnessed numerous trucks and other vehicles stuck on this road over the years.

Even when there is no snow, numerous hazards exist on this road, such as deep holes and water across the road, which can get you stuck at any time of year. Not to mention, the section-line road has virtually no gravel on it, so the mud can be very slippery during wet periods, causing vehicles to once again get stuck.
Here's what the Burleigh County Highway Department had to say about this road
I spoke with them earlier this week, and the reason for the new warning sign is because of the numerous citizens who continue to get stuck on this stretch of road. It's also to remind them, even though it's a section-line road, and you have the right to travel down it, you should be aware of the dangers associated with it. The Burleigh County Highway Department is hoping to avoid any future tragic incidents.
